Ladakh
The Land of High Passes
Ladakh, the highest plateau region of India, is a stark and stunning landscape of barren mountains, turquoise lakes, ancient Buddhist monasteries, and a culture shaped by centuries of isolation. Often described as "The Last Shangri-La" or "Little Tibet," Ladakh straddles the Karakoram and Himalayan ranges at altitudes between 2,750 and 7,672 metres.
Why Visit Ladakh?
Ladakh is unlike anywhere else in India. The dramatic landscapes — from the impossibly blue Pangong Tso to the sand dunes of Nubra Valley with its double-humped Bactrian camels — create scenes that feel otherworldly. Add to this the living Buddhist heritage of monasteries like Thiksey, Hemis, and Diskit, and you have a destination that appeals equally to adventure seekers, spiritual travellers, and photographers.
