Best Time: January – December
Route: Srinagar Airport to Pahalgam by private vehicle, usually 2 to 3 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.
Enroute stops: Pampore saffron fields and the Awantipora temple ruins can be included when timing allows.
Pacing: Light travel day with hotel check-in, riverside leisure time and an easy evening around the Lidder River.
Stay: Dinner and overnight stay at the pre-arranged Pahalgam hotel.
ARU VALLEY It is located around 12 km from Pahalgam, 11 km upstream from the Lidder River. Noted for its scenic meadows, lakes and mountains, it is a base camp for trekking to the Kolhoi Glacier and Tarsar Lake. The village lies of the leg bank of the Aru river, which is a tributary of the Lidder river The Aru valley is noted for its scenic meadows. It is popular among the tourists for its peaceful environment and scenic beauty. Other popular tourist activities include fishing of trout in the Lidder river, trekking, hiking, horse riding, sightseeing and photography.
BETAAB VALLEY Situated at a distance of 15 kilometers from Pahalgam. The valley got its name from the Sunny Deol’ Amrita Singh hit debut film Betaab. The valley surrounded by lush green meadows, snow clad mountains and covered with dense vegetation. Betaab Valley is a very popular touristic destination. Betaab Valley is also a favorite campsite of travellers as it also serves as a base camp for trekking and further exploration of the mountains. The valley is a walk-able distance from Pahalgam. The crystal clear & chilly water of the stream bubbling down from the snowy hills is a delight; locals here drink this water too. Baisaran and Tulian Lake are few nearby attractions that can be visited.
CHANDANWARI Situated 16 km from Pahalgam, is the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra, which takes place every year in the month of Sawan (Rain). It is famous for snow sledging on a snow bridge. Taxi cabs can be hired from Pahalgam for a roundtrip. Snow fights" is what people generally indulge in here before they sledge back down. Many prefer to sip a cup of tea of snack at the nearby dhabas. Hajan, on the way to Chandanwari is an idyllic spoJor a picnic. In the evening you take a shikara ride on world famous Dal Lake, where you visit the floating vegetable gardens & Open Dal Lake. While riding the Shikara’s there are plenty of opportunities for bird watching with plentiful species including Kingfisher, Little Bittern, Common Pariah Kites, Grebe etc. Dinner & overnight stay at Houseboat. Mr Nasir and his associate at Mumbai Mr Raju kadam made excellent arrangements .we had trip of 7 days...Hotels arranged at each destination were really nice...food provided by hotel was tasty ...Our vehicle drivers Mr Asif and Mansoor very cooperative and informative available right from airport pick up to drop..enjoyed journey with them......only issue was with a guide at gulamarg he was useless and greedy....rest everyone in team was very cooperative.... Mr Nasir is available on phone at any time for help and to resolve if any issue... We had excellent and Memoriable trip because of Mr Nasir and his team of Holidayz tours ...I will highly recommend to holidayz tours .....If u are planning trip to kashmir think about Mr Nasir and his team...... One of the best domestic trips we had so far. Mr. Nasir made great arrangements for us. The Hotels we stayed were great and our cab driver Mr. Munna Bhai was very polite and caring. All the other arrangements like the Gondola Ride, the guide Mr. Akthar were all well planned and of great help. Would love to plan few more trips with you in the Future. Wonderful experience. First visit. I repent, why I didn’t earlier visit J n K earlier n that too repeatedly. People over there very generous, courteous. Food Maash Allah. Harmony, Honesty prevailing everywhere. My tour was executed as per itinerary n to perfection. AC Innova car n driver Mr Manzoor high class services. I was on a business meeting to anantnag and found this hotel, best hospitality and very good hygiene maintained by the staff and I feel this is the best place in anantnag to stay.
