How to Reach
Drung is near Tangmarg, on the Gulmarg side of the valley. Most travellers add it while travelling between Srinagar and Gulmarg. In winter, expect controls, chain vehicles or road-condition delays depending on snow.
Photography and Safety
Photos are best when ice has formed fully, but do not climb under unstable icicles or walk onto wet frozen edges. Keep children away from the slippery spray zone. Use waterproof shoes or snow boots in deep winter.
How to Combine With Gulmarg
If your Gulmarg day is focused on the Gondola, do Drung after returning towards Tangmarg. If Phase 2 closes or the weather is poor, Drung can be a useful backup winter stop.
