About Lolab Valley

Why visit Lolab Valley?

Lolab Valley is the softer side of Kupwara: walnut trees, rice fields, forested slopes and village roads rather than the wide exposed grasslands of Bangus. It is still offbeat, but it is generally more settled and easier to understand than remote high meadows.

For travellers searching beyond Gulmarg and Pahalgam, Lolab answers a different intent: where can I see rural North Kashmir without making the trip too extreme? The answer is possible, but it needs realistic routing and basic-infrastructure expectations.

ATARA recommends Lolab as part of a North Kashmir custom plan with Kupwara, Bangus Valley or Keran, not as a rushed add-on to a short classic Kashmir package.
